We regret that due to a reported increase in COVID-19 cases in Etowah County, the GPL will NOT be able to safely open our doors to the public as planned. We apologize for any inconvenience. We remain closed to the public until further notice, but continue to provide the following services to our community:
· Materials may be reserved for contactless pickup by calling 256.549.4699, Monday-Friday, 8AM-4PM, or emailing gpl@gadsdenlibrary.org.
· Free WiFi is available to the public 24/7 from the parking lots of all 3 of our facilities. Individuals are strongly encouraged to stay in their vehicles at all times, and respect the safety measure of social distancing (6-8’).
· Book drops at all three branches are open to return borrowed materials. GPL staff continues to disinfect all returned materials and quarantine them for seven days before adding them back to the circulating collection.
· Library books checked out prior to our March 17th closure due to COVID-19 will not be overdue until June 29, 2020. Please check our Website/Facebook pages for information about online resources and virtual programming.
We continue to do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19 by following the recommendations of our Federal, State, and City governments by remaining temporarily closed for the health of our community. Please remain safe.
