Gadsden, AL- The Gadsden Parks and Recreation Department is hosting A Lifetime of Discovery, a celebration that will be highlighting National Parks and Recreation Month. The event will take place Saturday, July 28 from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. at Thompson Community Center at 236 Goldenrod Avenue. Since 1985, the month of July is dedicated to National Parks and Recreation, which brings awareness to the importance of community parks and recreational facilities. All parks and facilities play a key role in promoting health and physical activities in communities, and the overall mission is to get everyone outdoors exploring local parks and recreational facilities!
The event is a free celebration for residents of all ages. The event will have special guests in attendance including: McDonalds, who will be passing out a sweet summer treat, a selfie photo-booth from The Factory, the Jacksonville State University Cheerleaders with mascot Cocky, the Chick-fil-A Mini-Cow, several fun and interactive kid-friendly and senior citizen activities, school supplies from the Quality of life, flag football, a sports registration booth, fingerprinting with the Gadsden Police Department, Big Sam Ballon Man, Noccalula Falls Park Petting zoo, and much more!
