The primary objective of the Community Development Block Grant Program is to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities; principally for persons of low-moderate income.
The City of Gadsden will hold a public hearing to allow citizens an opportunity to make suggestions on projects for Fiscal Year 2017 which begins June 1, 2017. The Community Development Department will also provide information concerning fair housing at the meeting.
The public hearing will be held on November 17, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Gadsden City Hall.
All proposals and requests for funding must be submitted to the Community Development Department, 90 Broad Street, Room 310, not later than January 6, 2017. Applications are available from the Community Development Department, Room 310, Gadsden City Hall or online at www.cityofgadsden.com.
