The City proposes to make application to ADECA in the amount of $500,000 for the following proposed activities: Grant Administration: $10,000, Public Facilities: $424,500 for demolition of the structure located at 2829 W Meighan Boulevard in Gadsden, AL., and pre-construction engineering and architectural costs, Public Services: $65,500 to East Central Alabama Health Education Center, Inc. for public service activities that provide benefits predominately for low to moderate income residents and limited clientele (elderly).
The City of Gadsden encourages citizens to participate in the development of its application to Alabama Department of Economic & Community Affairs (ADECA) for CDBG-CV (CARES Act) funds derived from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). Written comments will be accepted from 10/20/21 through 4:00 p.m. on 10/25/21. A public hearing to obtain comments regarding the proposed use of funds will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers within Gadsden City Hall.
