The Gadsden Fire Department will be conducting annual fire hydrant testing in October to ensure that hydrants are working properly. The testing sometimes can cause a slight discoloration of the water that should go away within a few days.
Fire Marshal Jason Talton said the department thanks residents and business owners in advance for their cooperation and patience as this necessary testing is done.
Testing will be done according to the following schedule:
October 4 to October 16, 2021; North and East side of the territories:
Station 1: North of Broad Street inclusive
Station 2: Airport Area
Station 4: North of Meighan Boulevard inclusive
Station 5: East of Noccalula Road and East of Tabor Road inclusive
Station 6: East of Ewing Avenue inclusive
Station 7: Walnut Park
Station 8: East of Rainbow Drive inclusive
Station 9: North of East Broad Street inclusive
October 18 to October 30, 2021; South and West side of the territories:
Station 1: South of Broad Street inclusive
Station 2: South Gadsden Area
Station 4: South of Meighan Boulevard inclusive
Station 5: West of Noccalula Road and West of Tabor Road inclusive
Station 6: West of Ewing Avenue inclusive
Station 7: South Gadsden Area
Station 8: West of Rainbow Drive inclusive
Station 9: South of East Broad Street inclusive
