Kent Back is serving in his first term on the City Council. He chairs the Administration Committee, is Vice Chair of the Education Committee, and is a member of the Finance Committee.

Married to Kimberly Back, kindergarten teacher in the Gadsden City School system.
Two children: Allen Back, his wife Celeste, and granddaughter Meredith; Kirkland Back and her husband Morgan Cunningham.
Sister, Shenley Inglis, of Jacksonville, AL, and brother, Keith Back, of Gadsden.
