Elections & Voters List
City elections are managed by the city clerk. The terms of our current elected officials will end on November 5, 2018. The last municipal election was held on August 26, 2014, with a runoff election for District 5 on October 7, 2014.  The Mayor and City Council took office on November 3, 2014.

Registering to Vote:  Postcard voter registration forms can  be obtained at the Gadsden City Clerk's office and Board of Registrars office and on-line at the Secretary of State's website.  You may also register in person at the Board of Registrars office, which is located in Room 206 in the Etowah County Courthouse at 800 Forrest Avenue (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).  The deadline for registering to vote in any particular election is 14 days before the election.

Voter Records:  Make sure that your name and address are correct on the official voting list--there is no automatic system for updating.  If you have moved or married since the time you registered to vote and you haven't completed a voter update form, your information is probably not current.  It is also possible that you may be on the inactive list.  To update your voting information, print and complete the voter update form. Mail completed forms to the Etowah County Board of Registrars, 800 Forrest Avenue, Gadsden, AL 35901.  If you are unsure about your voter record, please feel free to call the board office at 256-549-5384.

City of Gadsden elections are non-partisan, and no write-in votes are permitted.
