Moffatt holds a bachelor’s in communication and public relations from Jacksonville State University. A Tennessee native, Moffatt moved to Gadsden in 2011 to work with Goodyear before retiring in 2013. In 2015, she began her career with United Way of Etowah County as the 211 First Call for Help director. Since 2019, she has served as the Executive Director of the United Way.  

Under Moffatt’s leadership, United Way of Etowah County’s “Success by 6” program was rebranded to “Student Success,” which provides resources for children from birth to college. The IGNITE (Inspiring Growth Now in Transformational Education) program was launched, as well as the Read to Succeed program, which is currently being piloted. 

Moffatt’s background includes several years as the liaison at the State of Alabama Emergency Management Agency during disaster, Homeless Coalition of Northeast Alabama, Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) and Gadsden Public Library Advisory Board. She is a graduate of Leadership Etowah and currently serves on that committee. 

Moffatt is currently a member of the Gadsden Rotary Club, the Woman’s Club of Gadsden, Leadership Etowah, DHR Advisory Board, Gadsden State Advisory Nursing Committee, Etowah C.A.R.E.S., First Friday Forum and the Homeless Task Force. 

In 2015, she was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success. She also earned the Academic Achievement Honor for Public Relations and English as she served in the Public Relations Society of America. In 2019, she was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and received the Chairman’s Award from VOAD. 

Her husband, David, is a Goodyear retiree, and they recently became “empty nesters.” She has seven children and four beautiful bonus children. She has 14 (soon to be 15) grandchildren. She spends every summer building memories with them through various adventures like traveling to a new state for vacation every year.  

In her free time, Moffatt loves to read, watch movies on Netflix and enjoy the outdoors. She also enjoys traveling, experiencing new things and becoming acquainted with other cultures. She recently adopted Blue, a rescue pit bull from the Gadsden-Etowah Humane Society.
