Postcards:
In mid July, postcards were mailed to City of Gadsden voters with specific information concerning election dates, voting location, and district assignment. If you are a city voter and did not receive a postcard, you should contact the City Clerk or the Board of Registrars. You are also encouraged to call if you receive a postcard that pertains to another voter or has incorrect information.
Registering to Vote:
Mail-in voter registration forms can be obtained at the Gadsden City Clerk’s office and Board of Registrars office and on-line at the Secretary of State’s website. You may also register in person at the Board of Registrars office, which is located in Room 206 in the Etowah County Courthouse at 800 Forrest Avenue (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). The deadline for registering to vote in any particular election is 10 days before the election date.
Voter Records:
Make sure that your name and address are correct on the official voting list—there is no automatic system for updating. If you have moved or married since the time you registered to vote and you haven’t completed a voter update form, your information is probably not current. It is also possible that you may be on the inactive list. Requests to update voting information must be made in writing to the Board of Registrars. Be sure to include your date of birth and social security number, as well as your new address and telephone number. Voter update forms are available on-line at the City of Gadsden’s website. If you are unsure about your voter record, please feel free to call the board office at 549-5384.
Absentee ballots: For information, call the City Clerk's office at 549-4516 or come to Room 401, 4th Floor, Gadsden City Hall, 90 Broad Street.
