The first day of qualifying for the City of Gadsden election to be held on August 24, 2010, ended with the following candidates:  Mary Armstrong (District 6), Sandy Battles (District 2), J. R. Countryman (District 2), Johnny Cannon (District 6), Ben Reed (District 7), Billy J. Harris (District 1), Robert (Bob) Echols (District 4), Sherman Guyton (Mayor), Robert Avery (District 3), and Bill C. Stewart (District 5).
