Remember to keep pot handles TURNED IN when pots are on the stove.

Always unplug toasters and coffee machines when they are not in use.

Never leave pots, pans or kettles unattended.

Never use the stove without a grown-up.

Bathroom

Have mom or dad check the temperature on the water heater. Make sure it is no higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Always check the water temperature BEFORE you get into the bathtub or shower.

Always unplug hairdryers, curling irons and other electrical appliances after use.

NEVER use an electrical appliance in the bathtub!

Bedroom

Always close your door when you go to bed. It will help keep the smoke out if there's a fire.

Keep toys and clothes away from heaters.

Living/Dining Room

WATCH OUT for hot drinks. If you spill them they can BURN you.

Never put extension cords or wires under your carpet.

Never put anything on top of a lamp (except a lampshade).

Hallway

Make sure there is a working smoke alarm outside every sleeping area (your bedroom). Make sure to check it once every month.

Keep the hallway clear of toys and stuff. You might have to get out in a hurry.
