With today’s cold temperature and strong winds, the Gadsden/ Etowah County Emergency Management Agency wants to remind the public of the warming centers that will be open. 

The high today is forecast to be 35 degrees, with winds 10-15 M.P.H. and gusting to 30. Wind chill factors could reach into the low 20’s.

Warming centers open today are:

·         Carnes Recreation Center, 102 Case Ave SE, Attalla, AL 35954, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

·         Elliott Community Center, 2829 W Meighan Blvd, Gadsden, AL 35904, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

·         Gadsden Public Library, 254 College Street, Gadsden, AL 35901, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

• Salvation Army, 114 N 11th St, Gadsden, AL 35901, 5:00 PM.
