Downtown Gadsden – It’s time for family-friendly fun! On October 4th, we’ll be having First Friday from 6:00pm-9:00pm on Broad Street. Many downtown stores will be open late to allow for convenient shopping. Food vendors will line the 400 block of Broad Street serving up delicious treats. Classic cars from all over the state and surrounding states will be lined up along the sidewalks.
There will be live entertainment on every block! Cross Camp Cowboy Band on 2nd & Broad, Clever Alibies on 3rd & Broad, Matt Harvey Band on 4th & Broad, and Alabama Red Hots on 5th & Broad.
There will also be a very special event going on during First Friday. At the Gadsden Museum of Art, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the “Making Alabama” traveling exhibit at 6:00pm. The ribbon will be cut by Mayor Sherman Guyton, members of our state legislative delegation, Etowah County Commissioners, school superintendents and members of the Alabama Humanities Foundation and the State Archives. Exhibit is free and will be open for the duration of First Friday.
Broad Street will be closed from 1st Street to 7th Street starting at 4pm and will reopen after the event. As a reminder to all, pets are not allowed at First Friday.
