[ARCHIVED] Motus Alabama Groundbreaking Ceremony

Groundbreaking Motus

Tuesday, July 30, 2019 the City of Gadsden was proud to welcome Governor Kay Ivey, Motus Integrated Technologies and key community partners to The Venue at Coosa Landing for a ground breaking ceremony.

“What an exciting day this is for Motus Integrated Technologies, for Gadsden, and for the entire state of Alabama... I’m so pleased that Motus selected Gadsden for their new plant...This further solidifies the fact that our state is a business friendly state with a high quality workforce,” said Governor Ivey.

The event was a chance for the community to celebrate the investment of $15 million dollars by Motus into a new state of the art plant in the Airport Industrial park that will employ 100.

Mayor Guyton said “Today is a result of years of work behind the scenes, building new relationships, and executing our plan for Gadsden’s future. I would like to welcome Governor Kay Ivey. We thank you for the support of the state on this and other projects. I also want to extend a warm welcome to our new partners at Motus, including CEO Shannon White. Thank you for investing in Gadsden and we look forward to working with you for years to come. Thank you to the Gadsden - Etowah Industrial Development Authority. The board and staff are committed to the success of our community and to bringing good jobs. ” Said Mayor Guyton "I also want to thank my staff at the City for their work on this project. Last but not least I would like to offer a special thank you  to our City Council. The council’s unwavering support of economic growth has been critical to projects like this one. They have been great partners in our plans to invest in education, quality of life, and workforce development. These projects will ensure economic prosperity in our community for generations to come,”  said Mayor Guyton.
