GPL Adult Summer Reading: Who's Who in 200 Years of Alabama History

The theme of Alabama's bicentennial year of statehood (2019) focuses on its people. This will be an opportune time to look at people who made Alabama a great place to live. We will feature an overflowing cast of characters and talent drawn from music, the arts, politics, sports, science, and technology. When: Through July 25 (Annual Back-To-School Clothing Sale July 24-26) We need your gently-used Children’s, Teen and Adult apparel & accessories! GPL Computer Classes
Where: Computer Classroom (2nd Floor) of the Main Library Classes are offered free-of-charge to the community. Registration is required since space is limited to 12 people per class. Register for classes in person at the Computer Center Desk (2nd floor) or for more information, call 256.549.4699, ext. 2119. A current (free & clear) library card is needed to enroll. If you don’t have a card, you may obtain one at the Circulation Desk, 1st floor of the Main Library.
Computer Basics for Beginners When: July 2 & 3, 9:30AM-12:30PM This is a two-day class (3 hours per day) for the absolute beginner or for those who simply need to know more about computers. No computer experience is required.
