The City of Gadsden has updated rules and policies regarding cleanouts of commercial and rental structures. Removal of debris from cleanouts of rental properties and other commercial properties goes beyond the limits of residential trash and garbage pickup. Removal of this trash is the responsibility of the property owner. Cleanouts after a change in tenant or eviction must be addressed by the legal owner. Public Works will not remove the debris and can issue a citation of $1000 for failure to comply with the ordinance in City Code section 106-89.
