Local youth will compete in the Major League Baseball Jr. Home Run Derby Competition set for April 22, 2018. The event is free and registration will begin at 1:30 p.m. that day at the Gadsden Sports Complex.
The Home Run Derby offers a chance for boys and girls ages 14 and under to show off their hitting abilities and be given the opportunity to compete on a national level during MLB All-Star Week. Boys and girls will be divided into groups based on age. Local champions will advance to the regional finals, and regional champions will advance to the national level.
To participate, please bring a birth certificate for the child. A parent or guardians must be present to register and sign a waiver prior to the competition. For any questions, please contact Durell Richardson at 256.490.0240.
