Beautiful Rainbow Café!

Located in the Gadsden Public Library!

The Beautiful Rainbow Café is closed from December 20, 2017-January 5, 2018 for the Gadsden City School system’s observance of the Christmas holiday and semester break. 

Tuesday: 11AM-1PM lunch; 3:15-5:30PM coffee & pastries. 

Wednesday: 11AM-1PM lunch; 3:15-5PM coffee & pastries. 

Thursday: 11AM-1PM lunch; 3:15-5:30PM coffee & pastries. 

Friday: 11AM-1PM lunch; no afternoon service. 

Saturday/Sunday/Monday: CLOSED

GPL Computer Classes

Where: Computer Classroom (2nd Floor) of the Main Library 

Cost: Classes are offered free-of-charge to the community! However, there is a $5.00 deposit (per class) to hold your reservation. Your deposit will be returned to you the day of the class. PLEASE NOTE: Registration is required since space is limited to 12 people per class. Register for classes in person at the Computer Center Desk (2nd floor) or for more information, call 256.549.4699, ext. 2119. A current (free & clear) library card is needed to enroll. If you don’t have a card, you may obtain one at the Circulation Desk, 1st floor of the Main Library. 

Computer Basics for Beginners

When: January 2 & 3, 9:30AM-12:30PM

This is a two-day class (3 hours per day) for the absolute beginner or for those who simply need to know more about computers. No computer experience is required.

This class will teach you how to download & save documents and files that you find on the Internet or receive from friends or business associates via email.

Want to share your nostalgic stories about what it was like growing up in Gadsden? Were you in the military? Do you have an interesting story to tell? Then join the Gadsden Public Library in our ongoing effort to preserve the oral history of Gadsden and Etowah County. Interviews are now being conducted. GPL Aerospace Connections in Education (ACE)

In partnership with the Family Success Center, the Gadsden Public Library’s East Gadsden branch will be offering FREE computer classes during January. Classes will be held in the Computer Classroom at the Family Success Center, 821 East Broad Street, beginning at 9:30 AM and ending at 11:30 AM. Where: East Gadsden Branch of the Gadsden Public Library 

Geniuses In The Making Club! S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) will be introduced in a fun and unique way to participants! 

These hour-long sessions will be an introduction to code. Students are encouraged to bring their tablets or laptops. 

This program is free to the public and is geared towards 3-12 years of age. Seating is limited to 10 students. Registration is required. The facilitator of the GIT'M Club is Tameka Stephens.
