Kick off the evening with the opening of the Riverwalk at 5:30pm and settle in for an amazing night of music! Great local talent with the evening capped off wDowntown Gadsden- On Saturday April 29th Downtown Gadsden, Inc. will host the Downtown Music Festival at Coosa Landing. The event will headline Ana Popovic. Ana is a phenomenal guitarist/vocalist playing a wide variety of funk, rock/blues and jazz. Born in Belgrade, Serbia (formerly Yugoslavia) Ana grew up in a family where music was very important. All throughout her youth, her father would invite friends over for nightly jam sessions. In this atmosphere, she quickly learned her father’s impressive blues and soul record collection, grabbed his guitar and started playing at the age of fifteen. Since then, Ana has developed into a phenomenal guitarist/vocalist with a growing legion of fans throughout the world. Ana and her powerful band are tirelessly touring, playing major blues, jazz and rock festivals. She is endorsed by Fender, D'Angelico, Jim Dunlop and DR strings. Ana has shared headlining stages with B.B. King, Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark Jr. and many others.

Opening for Ana are some of our great local musicians. Albert Simpson and Lefty Collins and 4 in the Fire. Music kicks off at 6:30pm. The concert is free to attend! Bring your own chairs and coolers are welcome (please note that glass is prohibited). There will be a few food vendors if you forget to bring your dinner. Parking for the event will be located at the former Kmart property and the vacant lot behind Jacks on East Broad Street. Transportation will then be provided to the event site.
