Gadsden, AL— Is your organization interested in participating in the 2017 Summer Food Service program, administered by the City of Gadsden’s Parks and Recreation Department? Interested hosts should contact Jennifer Gipson by Friday, March 17.
The Summer Food Service Program will begin June 1, 2017, and end July 31, 2017. Sites will serve lunch (and possibly breakfast or snack) to children ages 0-18 that otherwise would miss meals due to not being in school. If the school system in the area qualifies for free or reduced lunch, then other locations such as churches, community centers, apartment complex and others can qualify as long as they can pass a health inspection and meet program guidelines.
The City of Gadsden covers all expenses including employees and is reimbursed by the State of Alabama. This program is administered in accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy. This institution is prohibited from discrimination on the basis of race, color, National origin, sex, age or discrimination. Sites interested in hosting the program may contact Jennifer Gipson and the City of Gadsden Parks and Recreation office at 256-549-4680 by March 17 to allow for pre-operation visits and submission of applications.
