[ARCHIVED] Summer Concert Series Dates and Entertainment Set

Gadsden, AL-– The dates and performers have been locked in for the 8th season of the Summer Concert Series held in conjunction with First Fridays at the Mort Glosser Amphitheater ‘The Amp’ at 90 Walnut Street in downtown Gadsden.
 
The concerts runs from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. following First Friday celebration on Broad Street and are free. Cushions and coolers are welcome. The concerts are great fun for all ages and a great time for everyone in the community.

The Series kicks off on Friday, May 5th, with Purple Masquerade. This Prince Tribute band provides a high-energy show with realistic costumes and a convincing recreation of Prince and the Revolution’s most popular shows.

Friday, June 2nd brings the World Turning Band a Fleetwood Mac Tribute band to The Amp. Come to the concert to hear all of the Fleetwood Mac hits from the 70s and 80s featuring recreations of Stevie Nicks and other Fleetwood Mac regulars.

A special addition to the Summer Concert Series on Friday, July 7th  Ultimate Aldean. Tribute artist Greg West brings a concert experience for fans of Nashville Superstar Jason Aldean to The Amp. Jessica McNear opens the show at the Summer Concert Series with a tribute to the leading ladies of country music.

Closing out the Summer Concert Series on Friday, August 4th, Departure comes to The Amp.  A Journey tribute band, Departure brings the experience and sound of the 80s super group. With incredible on-stage chemistry and years of touring together   Departure faithfully recreates the Journey concert experience.

The Summer Concert Series is presented by the City of Gadsden, Gadsden Parks and Recreation, Regions Bank, Holiday Inn Express, Insurance Facilities, Greater Gadsden Area Tourism and Jack’s Restaurants.
