Career Center and City Councilman Bring Job Fair to Gadsden
GADSDEN – The Gadsden Career Center, in partnership with Gadsden City Councilman Thomas Worthy, will host a Job Fair Thursday, August 11 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Gadsden Convention Hall located at 344 1st Street in Gadsden. This is a free event open to the public.
The Job Fair will be preceded that morning by an Employment Skills Seminar from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. in the Arthur Green Room at the convention hall. Jobseekers will be instructed on soft skills such as re´sume´ preparation, interview skills, and dressing for success.
To date, 61 employers have reserved space at the Job Fair and there is room to accommodate 75 at the convention hall. Jobseekers should be dressed professionally and bring multiple copies of their re´sume´s. Priority service will be given to qualified veterans.
Staff from the Gadsden Career Center will be available to assist jobseekers and offer career placement and educational services. The Career Center Bus will also be there so participants can have access to the internet and register for JobLink, the state’s free online jobs database.

The Alabama Career Center System is part of the Alabama Department of Labor and exists to help employers and employees find one another. Services are designed to help the citizens of Alabama gain the skills needed to get a job, locate a position for which they are qualified and provide the resources for applying to employers. The centers work with employers to qualify potential employees and help them through the interview process.
