Gadsden’s new mayor, council, and school board members will be sworn in at a public inauguration event on Monday, November 7, 2022 at The Venue at Coosa Landing. The program will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the public is encouraged to attend.
Mayor-elect Craig Ford stressed that this date is an important one for the future of Gadsden and Etowah County. He said Nov. 7 officially marks the beginning of the next chapter in the story of Gadsden, Alabama, and he wants everyone to be a part of celebrating the occasion.
“Now that the voters have chosen new leadership, it’s time to come together and chart the path forward for our city,” said Ford. “We are all eager to officially get to work, and we invite all of Gadsden to join us in our efforts to move this city forward.”
In addition to administering the oaths of office, the inauguration will feature performances by the Gadsden City High School Concert Choir, the mayor’s inaugural address, and will be followed by the first official meeting of the new city council.
