Make plans to join Downtown Gadsden from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 7 for the final First Friday of 2022!
Classic cars will fill Broad Street, live music will emanate from locations on the sidewalk, and food vendors will tempt with cool drinks and tasty treats.
Downtown retail shops, restaurants and entertainment will remain open late to welcome attendees.
During First Friday, Broad Street will be closed to automobile traffic to allow pedestrians to easily cross the street to enjoy the event.
Entertainment will include The New Delusions at 2nd and Broad, Grand Avenue Brass at 3rd & Broad, Sherwood Seven at 4th & Broad, and TAD of Jazz at 5th & Broad.
“We have had another great season of First Friday events and want to thank everyone for their participation and support of our historic downtown’s merchants and restaurants” said Kay Moore, DGI Director. “Be on the lookout for future events that will be happening during the next few months.
"Our largest fundraiser, Sunset Sips, will be October 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the Memorial Bridge. We will have Christmas Open House on November 11 and 12, Plaid Friday and Small Business Saturday on November 25 and 26 and don’t forget the Christmas Tree lighting on the lawn of City Hall along with the Boat Parade on the Coosa River on the first Friday in December!”
The guidelines for First Friday include no pets, no personal coolers or glass containers, no skateboards or roller blades and no advertising or fundraising.
